A mini photo session is designed to be quick, fun, and efficient! Because these sessions are short and run back-to-back, a little preparation goes a long way. Please take the time to read this through so we can make the most of our session!

Before You Arrive
**Arrive on Time (or a few minutes early!)**
Mini sessions are scheduled on a tight timeline. We only have 20 minutes together, and your session will start and end exactly on time to be fair to the next client. To ensure you get your full session, please plan to arrive a few minutes early so you can find the location and we can start right away, at your scheduled time. Map the location a few days in advance so you know what time to leave your house. Out of the car, ready to go! I will not have any buffer time to give you if you are late. Please be on time!
Come Ready to Go
The most important tip for a mini session is to arrive completely ready to go! Please have everyone in your family dressed in their outfits with hair and makeup done beforehand. Many times a family will show up at the start time, and still need to change kids clothes, wipe faces, etc. That will eat into your 20 minutes. If you need to change on location, be early.
Contacting Me
Please follow the map and directions on where to park and meet me that I send via email. If you call me during my mini sessions, I will not be able to respond. I want to give my families all my attention, so I don't answer phone calls. Text is best but not guaranteed to be able to respond.

During the Session
The goal is to capture genuine smiles and connections. I have my favorite poses that I will go through. If you have anything specific in mind, let me know beforehand (ex landscape portraits for certain frames, etc)! I always get, family all together (standing, walking and sitting), kids all together, kids separate, mom and dad together, and I try to get a couple candids as well.

Tips for the Kids
Don't stress ! I know that is easier said than done, but kids are kids and I am a big advocate for letting them be themselves and act their age, and capturing those moments. Sometimes new walkers are the hardest to get to stay still, so I encourage you to hold them the whole time until the end. Please keep your kiddos close to you, not letting them wander off etc. I will get the kids attention, parents all you need to do is look at me and smile! I do bring smarties for treats after or for little bribes during the shoot. They are not the most fun treat, but they dissolve quickly, don't stain teeth or clothes, and a roll lasts awhile! If its ok, at the end of the session I let the kids get one from my bag.
